WILDAI is making a real impact in the world of women’s health, fitness and wellness. From a standing start 3 years ago, the company now has Olympic athletes lauding its effectiveness and will be the education partner for Adidas for the launch of a female focused product.
When we met
We originally invested in Helene Guillaume in 2018 when we listened to a compelling pitch from her across a desk about serving the serious amateur athlete market using wearable data put through deep machine learning to inform their training. It was very early in the cycle, in fact a pre-qualifying round, but there was something about this founder that immediately sparked our interest.
Three years and two more raises later, WILD AI is now targeted at women of all ages at every stage in life and dares to say its all about ‘Unleashing the Beast in Women’.
Choose Your Focus Carefully
The product was pivoted around to focus on women in fitness when Helene realised how underserved this market was and what huge potential could be opened up with the right product.
Alongside recruiting the right tech team Helene has also attracted top female athletic talent such as former world champion and marathon record holder Paula Radcliffe. The credibility on the research piece has also been crucial and the addition of Stacy Stims, a world leading female elite performance coach, shows that WILD AI is the real deal. Not here to make a fast buck but here to make a difference to women.
Raising Awareness
Usually raising awareness in the consumer marketplace involves spending huge amounts of money and ’buying’ your way through the ambient noise but Helene has done things differently.
The PR piece has been excellent and alongside user endorsement (the app is currently rated 4.5* on iOS and 4.7* on Android), and developing Instagram followers, Helene has been in Forbes magazine, done many panels and a lot of articles extolling the virtues of a female centric, research lead and AI based app to help women, and yes, ‘unleash the beast’.
There was also a memorable appearance on Dragons Den where she raised eyebrows and interest with her equity offer.
We are really looking forward to an exciting 12 months from this investment and its charismatic founder.
