The recent announcement by Wild AI founder and CEO Helene Guillaume Pabis of a new partnership between Wild AI and Amazfit was a game changer for the company.
Becoming the data provider for the Amazfit range of wearables means access to millions of active women. This in turn will help push the guidance and knowledge of the effect of all stages of a woman's life on her ability to train and recover.
We first invested in Helene and her concept in 2018 in a pre-qualifying seed round. This says it was a high risk punt on what was a nascent move into looking at women's health as a separate stream to the data and research that had always been produced by and for men. Sounds obvious now but really most medical research is done on men and women as viewed as 'smaller men', this was not a sustainable position. The progress in getting to this point has been a lot of hard work on Helene's part to raise this issue on a number of global platforms. She has done a great job!
Zepp Health is a global player in cutting edge health tech and has shifted over 200 million units in the smart wearables sector. The deal is the first commercial tie for the app and will be a crucial test of the add-value of Wild AI data to wearable providers. As more and more in the health, wellness and fitness sector realise that women require a different data collection and analysis to optimise their health then partnerships like this will become the norm rather than the exception. The first of many we hope!
